What is Insurance Self-Study Continuing Education (CE)?
Self-study Continuing Education courses are correspondence programs completed either online or by paper. Since no specific classroom time is required, you must pass a multiple choice exam to assure your state agency that sufficient training time was spent and proficiency was attained.

Is CEIS approved in my state?
To find out if CEIS is approved in your state click your professional avenue (Insurance Agents, Title Agents, Real Estate Agents, Adjusters, or Attorneys). Once you choose your professional avenue you will be directed to your professions homepage. You will find a list of approved states on your professions homepage.

What license types do you offer CE courses?
CEIS offers courses for Life/Health, Property/Casualty, Title Agents, Real Estate Agents, Adjusters, and Attorneys.

How do I purchase a course?
Choose your professional avenue (Insurance Agents, Title Agents, Real Estate Agents, Adjusters, or Attorneys). Once you choose your professional avenue you will be directed to your professions homepage. Select your state from your professions homepage. This will bring you to your states homepage. Once on your states homepage, hover over Order Course in the left-hand menu bar and click on Online or Self Study (Your preference). Online Courses are completed online, including the final examination. Self Study Courses are for agents who rather have the book in front of them. You can securely order your courses online and have the book mailed to you or you can click the "Mail Order Form" link to download a form that you can mail. To purchase a course online click on the “Add to Cart” button located next to the course you which to purchase. A receipt will appear with your username and password once you make a purchase. You must record the username and password and keep it in a safe place. The receipt will also be emailed to you, so make sure to check your bulk and SPAM mail.

How do I find out how many credit hours I need?
We offer state requirements for each state. Go to the "Regulations" link listed in the left-hand menu bar on each state homepage. If you have a question, we will look up the information for you, call us: 1-800-783-9440

How do I know which courses to choose?
To help you select your courses, click on the state "Regulations" link which is to the left of each state homepage. The state Requirements will also tell you your state’s rules on repeating courses.

Do I need to download special software to use CEIS courses?
Yes, our courses do require special software. Supported formats include Adobe PDF or Word. To view PDF version you must have PDF software installed on your computer. This software is free and can be downloaded at: Free PDF Reader. To view the Word version you must have Microsoft's Word Program installed. This is not a free program and can be purchased at: Microsoft Office Word.

How do I access to my courses?
Click on the "Access Courses" link in the left-hand menu bar of your state's homepage and then select your course from the drop down box.

Can I pay for more than one course at a time?
Yes, many states offer a discount for multiple course purchases.

What is your refund policy?
If you are not completely satisfied with your order, call us at 1-800-783-9440 for an exchange or credit.

What is state Filing Fees?
State Filing Fees (Sometimes called Roster Fees) are additional charges levied by some states to process continuing education credits. CEIS is required by these states to collect the filing fees from you and remit them to your state. If applicable, you will see these fees added to your handling charges.

How do I get access to my online exam?
Click on the "Examinations" link in the left-hand menu bar of your state's homepage and then select your exam from the drop down box.

What is a passing score?
70%.

How many questions are on the exam?
Exams contain 15-50 questions. The length of exams will vary by state and credit hours earned.

What happens if I do not pass my exam?
You may re-take the exam free as many times as needed to pass.

Are the exams timed?
No.

How do I know if my exam needs to be monitored?
If your state requires a monitor, details will be listed on your state's examination page. The monitoring requirements vary by state as well as by course delivery in some states.

Can I print the test?
Yes, for studying purposes, however all exams must be completed online.

How long does it take to get the results of an exam?
Exams are graded instantly.

When will I receive my certificates?
In most states your certificate will be presented to you instantly upon passing. If you see a "Certificates" link in the left-hand menu bar of your state's homepage, then your certificate will be generated instantly for printing. In addition you are able to view and print your certificates at any time by clicking on the "Certificates" link and then entering your license number and course. If no link is available then your certificates will be mailed to you within 2 business days.

When will the state be notified?
Where applicable, the state will be notified within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays).

How do I find my license number and renewal date?
Your license number should be located on the information received from your state. In some states, the license number is also your social security number. If you do not have a renewal date, use your CE compliance date.
